Wrong!
The Sunspear title effects how well the Sunspear PvE skills work, like the Rebirth Signet for example. It is worth maxing it out for that alone.

You get very powerful sunspear skills, but you don't need to show your title for that. Not all titles give inhert benefits.

As mentioned, it improves your sunspear skills. For each rank you obtain in the sunspear tract, the skills improve. Also, I believe, that it makes your suspear rebirth signet awesome. If I remember well, they resurrect with 100% health and 10% energy for each level of rank. So with legendary sunspear - you can rebirth someone with full health and energy - which is a boon during a tough PVE battle.

And don't forget one of the best paragon skills in the game is Sunspear Rank based: There is nothing to fear! I use whirlwind attack on my war (let hero precast splinter weap on me and watch the numbers fly D-Slash w/ FGJ, Whirlwind, repeat)

There's also one for ranger, but i rather not talk about it.
On the other hand, Vampirism is great for the energy cost.

You get a few % more power on some pve skills. IMO maxed rank is really overrated, 1 less is fine. Show me a situation where the difference between r9 and r19 decided a battle and I'll show you someone who brought a better build and beat the area in half the time. The only skill that actually gains appreciably by r10 is seed of life, which gains a nice 25% (4->5 seconds)
